Listed here are some of our more frequently asked questions. If you have any of these questions in mind, we hope this may help. If you would like to ask a question about our efforts, please don't hesitate to do so through our Contact Us page.
Q. Why do you want to do this?
A. This is a tremendous opportunity for us go give back to the world from the skills we have been blessed with. Our primary directors have been given a gift; the ability to feed people in large quantities. We are working to build this mission now and for the future to help our fellow Americans when major natural disasters have devastated their life.
Q. Why you? Why not the other guys?
A. Whenever a disaster occurs, we see opportunities everywhere! While we have respect for all existing avenues of relief currently available, it is clear that not all bases are covered.
A. We are as tax deductible as any other disaster relief effort. We are not asking for anyone to make a decision to abandon support for another organization, merely to spread their support around. We can move mountains with just 5 - 10% of the funds other organizations receive. We only ask that people consider giving to more than one organization.
A. Our mission is not geared toward shelters and evacuations. We are a field kitchen designed to enter, and stay, in the middle of the mess for an extended period of time (usually 2 - 3 weeks). This will allow us to feed those who were unable to evacuate and those who are there to clean things up.
Q. What's in it for sponsoring organizations?
A. Tremendous visibiliy and civic pride. The support of our sponsors will be clearly evident during all of our fund raising efforts but, most notably, during disaster relief efforts. The equipment used in our mission offers hundreds of square feet of 'rolling billboard'. Our fund raising efforts will be dominated by events that normally draw between 50,000 to 250,000 people over a two - three day period.
Q. How do you plan to make it work?
A. Our mission has a strong plan for self sustaining fund raising. While we certainly will pursue grants, gifts and foundations, our plan is to remain active throughout the year by participating in outdoor events. Large festivals, county & state fairs, events, just about anywhere we can spread the word of awareness and generate support.
Q. What makes you think you can pull it off?
A. Experience. Over 25 years of direct food service experience. We feed someone (other than family) nearly everyday. This mission allows us to serve a need with the skills we have.
Q. How long do you think you can keep going?
A. Personally, our founders plan to pursue the day to day functions of this mission for at least the next 25 - 30 years. After that, depending on how it has developed, we are hopeful that the mission will extend beyond our years on Earth.
Q. What makes you different?
A. Besides our size at this time, we are overtly Christian in our structure. As we serve and assist others we will not be shy about spreading the word of Jesus. Our primary method to accomplish this task will be through contemporary Christian music which will be prominently heard coming from our equipment.
A. Most of our fund raising will take place at outdoor festivals, fairs and events. Again we will be carrying the message with us through music and, in general, our participation in an event. We are confident that at times we will have to remind ourselves; "Sometimes you have to stand alone".
